UNI Europa and CoESS – EU Sectoral Social Partners – have jointly responded to the European Commission’s consultation on the EU Quality Jobs Roadmap, emphasizing the need to improve job quality while ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of the sector.

The private security sector, employing hundreds of thousands across Europe, faces unique challenges in improving working conditions while delivering essential services. The EU Sectoral Social Partners underline in their response:

  • The need for fair and stable employment conditions, including clear contractual arrangements;

  • Ensuring health and safety protections for security workers across diverse workplaces;

  • The importance of public procurement policies that consider quality employment criteria, not only cost

  • Enhancing social dialogue to address sector-specific issues in the transition towards quality jobs

The sectoral social partners also highlight that recognizing the value of private security services is critical for improving job quality and ensuring professional standards across Europe.

This response contributes to the broader EU Quality Jobs Roadmap, which aims to strengthen job quality across the EU while supporting fair transitions in a changing labour market.

Read below the full sectoral social partners’ response to understand their recommendations and priorities for quality jobs in the private security sector.
